What is TTS?
It’s the voice of you application. TTS is an acronym for Text-to-Speech, a component that allows you to transform texts into spoken voice.
What can we do with TTS?
TTS makes possible to interact with user in a spoken way, so it’s more natural and provides more flexibility in audio generation. A speaker no longer has to recorded every sentence that is spoken in the application. TTS “speaks” for it, even though it has not recorded a certain word or a combination of them. This makes the application more dynamic. TTS can reproduce speech about variables, for example: client name, account balance, transaction value, database search, results of some football match. In a matter of minutes we can add new messages like New Year greetings or information about system unavailability.
What is STT?
It’s transcribes audio to text. Before triggering the knowledge base, it is necessary to transform sound information into text characters.
What we can do with STT?
STT is a acronym for Speech-to-Text. It’s the opposite of TTS. With STT it’s possible voice interaction. The user no longer needs to type each interaction. STT writes for it when it dictates. Of course, the quality of the transcript will depend on the quality of the audio sent to that component (if there is background noise, whether it was spoken too close to or too far from the microphone, Internet or telephone signal, device quality). This quality also varies depending on the provider or the language the text was spoken about.
What is knowledge base
It is the decision mechanism of the application, After each interaction of the user, this component is triggered to “understand” what was informed and respond properly.
What we can do with Knowledge Base?
Knowledge base allows give some intelligence to the application. From the configuration of intentions, entities and contexts added to the components of the natural language interpreters, the application can respond satisfactorily to each interaction of the user (or absence of interaction). Some bases are more complex than others, depending of the vendor. While some are intentional detectios, others allow dialogs flows triggered by texts or events and can interact with web services for queries and transactions.
